National Parks Art Center, my Oakhurst Gallery in Gallery Row is open daily from 10:00A.M. to 5:00 P.M. ![]() ![]() I just finished "Peter Pande Lake 2". New upcoming paintings: The next painting will be a view of Yosemite Valley looking across a meadow towards North Dome and the Royal Arches. A painting I plan to do in the future will be of the lower part of Vernal Falls. I don't know what size I will do it yet, but I am thinking big. The painting, although it will be painted almost photo real, will have a contemporary feel because of the unique, almost abstract composition. ![]()
I have over 80 different ideas of things I want to paint. Here are a few: While staying in Mammoth, I hiked several miles behind Convict lake, and hiked to King Creek. I also took the gondola up to the top of Mammoth Mountain. There are some images from those places that I may paint in the future. I have a particular interest in the view of the Ritter Range that includes the Minaretts, Mount Banner, and Ritter. I painted them about twenty years ago as they appeared in the late winter. I am considering two different views of the range for a new painting. I may also be painting a new view of Vernal falls with the river in the foreground. ![]() ![]() Giant Squirrels attack in Yosemite. (Picture taken by my son Danny.) Thanks for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy it. Best Wishes, Mark Gudmundsen ![]() ![]() On September 12, 2001 I started the painting. Three months later it was finished. It is available for viewing on this website. | Return Home | What's New | Original Paintings | Canvas Prints | Paper Prints | Archives | Biography | Links | Contact Us | |
