Mark Gudmundsen National Parks Artist


Gudmundsen's landscape paintings evoke a presence and sense of light and depth that give the viewer a sense of being there. For 20 years his artist studio was in the Lobby of Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite where guests could view him painting. His works were also featured at Timberline Gallery in Gallery Row , Oakhurst CA for 22 years until he retired from painting due to vision loss.  At one time his paintings were featured in galleries in places such as "Rodeo Drive" in Beverly Hills, California; Palm Springs, California; Orlando, Florida; Jackson, Wyoming; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Francisco, California, and several other locations.  He was featured in Magazines such as "Southwest Art", "Artist Magazine", and a magazine show on NBC Television in 1995.  Mark Gudmundsen continues to work in the arts as the owner of a major artistic website dealing with controversial issues, and as a political activist to help erradicate prejudice in America.

Mark Gudmundsen was a painter, known for his almost photo real paintings.  His paintings go beyond Photo realism.  Gudmundsen is also a painter of light, capturing the essence of waterfalls, mountains, desert, lakes, and sea.
